Second Narco IAFV (Improvised Armored Fighting Vehicle) with Drone ‘Cope Cage’ Identified: Culiacán, Sinaloa

What appears to be the second Narco IAFV (improvised armored fighting vehicle) with a drone ‘cope cage’ has been identified by Obscuro (@LatamObscuro) on X (Twitter) in a post on 29 December 2024. The white Chevrolet Suburban has a “a metal pole supporting a large metal plate over a cut out in the vehicle’s roof acting as a form of protection from potential drone attacks.” per the post. The cutout would serve as an observation post and also as a firing position for one or more cartel gunmen. While the metal plate would also provide sun/rain cover and a defense against arching munitions from cartel mortars (which are very rare to date) and launched grenades (such as 40mm ones from M203 type launchers), the drone aerial bombardment defense rationale appears more accurate...
