Chinese Coast Guard Ship (CCG 5205) Targets Philippine BRP Malapascua (MRRV-4403): Part of an Ongoing Series of Military Lasings C/O Futures Less-Lethal and Unconventional Weapons Research Note Series Robert J. Bunker 20 February 2023

On 6 February 2023, the China Coast Guard (CCG) vessel 5205 harassed, engaged in dangerous navigation with, and twice lased (using a green military counter-optical laser) the bridge of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) vessel BRP Malapascua (MRRV-4403). Some of the PCG crew were temporarily blinded as a result of the targeting. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) regime has a history of directing counter-optical lasers against Western and allied military forces (such as naval craft and aircraft) over some years. Such lasings will continue well into the future.
