Craig J.J. McCann is former Head of Strategy and Policy at the Office of the National Coordinator for Prevent and a Detective Chief Inspector with the Metropolitan Police Service’s Counter Terrorism Command. He has a PhD from the University of Kent at Canterbury with this work being a published extension of his doctoral dissertation. He has in this book produced an informed, nuanced, and distinctive perspective regarding local policy coordination surrounding English Defence League (EDL) activity in Luton, Newcastle, and Waltham Forest. The perspective is grounded in his own experience as a Prevent policymaker along with 80 qualitative interviews he conducted with frontline practitioners.
