On Friday, 22 March 2024 an Islamic State in Khorasan Province (ISKP; IS-K) assault force of four fighters carrying tactical gear and backpacks and armed with small arms, knives, IEDs, and flammable materials (liquids/Molotov cocktails) attacked the Crocus City Hall in Krasnogorsk (Moscow), Russia. A sold-out rock concert in the theater with roughly 6,200 people attending was about to take place when the IS-K assault force attacked the venue. The operation lasted 18 minutes and resulted in over 137 deaths and hundreds of casualties. The venue was set on fire by the withdrawing team which escaped in a vehicle. The IS-K team was later interdicted about 14 hours after the attack by Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) hundreds of miles away from Moscow as they were attempting to flee the country.[1]
