The July 2022 Cártel de Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG) ambush of responding Agencia de Investigación Criminal (AIC) personnel in an abandoned house in Irapuato, Guanajuato represents a unique Indications & Warning (I&W) event. Over the years, CJNG has proven itself to be a leader in innovative technology and weaponry use in its operations and tactical actions. This incident directly ties into emergent concerns related to the weaponization of Smart Homes directed against police and security forces by criminal elements, such as gangs, militias, and cartels, not only internationally but also within the United States.
