Three drone weaponeer gang members who had been providing their armaments to Cártel de Santa Rosa de Lima (CSRL) and Cártel de Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG) were arrested in Mexico City on 19 November 2021. The arrests can be tied back to the San Andrés Cholula, Puebla raids which took place on 25 April 2020 related to CSRL weaponized drone seizures. This is the first incident in which an independent (mercenary) gang of weaponeers have been linked to weaponized drone proliferation among the Mexican cartels.
